@init4thelongrunblog Lightroom Mobile Presets
I’ve been dreaming and scheming about creating Lightroom presets for over a year. A lot of self-doubt and imposter syndrome held me back, and yet the timing actually work out amazingly. This past spring Adobe launched some major updates which allowed for much easier creation and sharing of mobile presets. While I had originally planned to create presets for the desktop app I’m so glad I waited. Most of the readers and followers of this blog & instagram aren’t professional photographers, which is why mobile presets make way more sense.
I’m also so excited to share these because 90% of the photos I share on instagram are shot on my iphone! I know, I am a professional photographer, yet there’s something about iphone photography I love for the Instagram platform.
All that rambling to say, that the timing worked well and I’m so excited to share these presets with you that you can use on your phone. Lightroom mobile is definitely my favorite mobile photo editing app. It gives you so much more control, consistency and uniqueness when it comes to your edits.
Why I Created These Presets
I created these presets because the number one-ish question I get asked via DM on instagram is about how I edit my photos. First of all, thank you! Secondly, I wanted to give you the tools to edit in a similar style, while also giving you some other fun options and the freedom to add your own twist.
About the Presets
There are 6 different presets in this pack each named after a coffee (or tea) drink.
- Iced Latte is my go-to edit and is great for pretty much everything. It’s on the darker and cooler side.
- Cortado is bright, muted, sharp and has some pink tones. It’s great if you want a feed that’s bold, clear and crisp.
- Matcha latte is the edit I use for the @chasingjoypodcast Instagram feed. It’s bright, slightly muted and cool. Great for lifestyle bloggers.
- Cold Brew is a really versatile edit. This is great for food and coffee and the person who likes to evolve through the seasons.
- Espresso was designed with travel, landscape, and lifestyle bloggers in mind. The shadows are very high meaning it’s a great preset for when there are a lot of shadows in your photo. This edit is great for someone who loves a warm, bright, crisp image with oranges and greens.
- Chai latte is a muted, sepia-toned preset perfect for the person who loves a cozy vibe and wants a really clear and consistent color theme. Lots of warm browns, oranges, and teals pop in this edit.
Who they’re perfect for
These presets are perfect for lifestyle bloggers and casual Instagrammers who want to create a more cohesive look to their feed. I also designed them with skin tones in mind. A lot of presets out there will total oversaturate the oranges making everyone look like a pumpkin (no thanks!)
Use these to edit your lifestyle, fashion, travel, selfie & coffee pics.
For the best results
Editing can help a photo quite a bit… but it can’t fix bad lighting. For the best results always try to expose your photo correctly (not too dark, not too light). iPhone photos can be amazing quality especially if there’s lots of light.
With each photo, you edit you can adjust as much or as little as you like. Mostly my adjustments are to the exposure, shadows, blacks and contrast and I keep the colors pretty consistent.
