Obsessed With Lately {Fall 2016}

Obsessed with Lately - In it 4 the Long Run

You know that feeling when you stumble across a product or brand that you’re low key obsessed with? It kind of feels like you found some magical secret. How is no one else freaking out about this? You feel selfish not telling your friends. Well, thanks to the magical world of blogging and social media I feel like I stumble across a lot of secret magical things that I can’t get enough of.

I know that I love hearing about my friends and favorite bloggers’ favorite things, so I wanted to start a series where I share all the things I’m crushing on, all the things I’m….

Obsessed with Lately

Once a month, I’ll be sharing a collection of new products that I just cannot get enough of. These are products and brands that I genuinely adore and use on the regular. Full disclosure: I’ve found many of these brands and products through blogging and some of these brands (but not all) I have collaborated with for the blog. However, this post is not sponsored in any way. It’s just a way to share some things I think you’ll be just as obsessed with.

1.) Ban.do Planner

I started using a ban.do planner last fall when my best friend and I got sucked into the wonderful vortex that is Paper Source. No, I didn’t go in there “needing” a planner per say, but this one was the planner of my dreams. I’m on my second one now and it’s my life line.

Reasons I love it:

  • Adorable design
  • Thick, high quality paper (this one is a MUST because I only use pens)
  • Lots of room for notes before every month
  • Good weekly layout
  • Straight up adorable design and cute little touches on every page
  • Bomb-ass stickers
  • Giant list of all the fun holidays you could think of
  • Lots of note pages in the back
  • Laminated monthly tabs

…ok I could seriously go on forever, but I’ll stop there

2.) Healthy Human Life Steins

One day last fall, a package from Healthy Human Life arrived at my door. This was after a super sweet email saying they were digging my IG. I’m so lucky to get fun little packages from time to time, but omgosh I didn’t realized I’d be so obsessed with a water bottle.

Since then, I use my stein and tumbler from Healthy Human on a daily basis. I’ve given them as gifts and got my boyfriend addicted to his. We both love our water iced cold and this is the only water bottle that has kept our drinks ice cold for the whole day.

I will admit, I am a bit of a water bottle hoarder so it doesn’t help that I want every color they make.

3.) BANGS Shoes

This was another brand that I discovered through Instagram. The lovely folks at BANGS sent me a pair of their fresh kicks. I was really attracted to the fact they give 10% of their profits to entrepreneurs. Definitely something I could get behind.

Since getting them in the spring I seriously have not stopped wearing them. I stand up to 9 hours working at the coffee shop and my BANGS are my go-to work shoes. I loved them so much I bought another pair so I could keep them clean and not covered in espresso. If you’re a sneaker lover, especially high tops, you’ll totally fall in love with BANGS. I have two pairs, in London Fog and Sahara Sand. I’ve got my eyes on those old pine high tops.

4.) Pelistones

Beautiful jewelry + infused with meaning + made by a bad ass nurse/personal trainer/total inspiration = a product I’m definitely going to be obsessed with. Around the same time I was getting ready to move from Boston (late last year), I got an email from Lindsey that she was starting a line of jewelry and she’d love if I checked it out. Fast forward months later and I almost never leave the house without at least two or three Pelistones on my wrist.

I’ve bought countless bracelets for my best friends, my mom, my mom’s friends and my sister. Lindsey even made me a custom bracelet for a close friend who was moving… in less than a week.

If you’re a sucker for jewelry, especially the kind infused with purpose and intention, and you love supporting young #LadyBosses then you will love Lindsey’s line of Pelistone bracelets.

5.) Vital Proteins Marine Collagen*

You guys know I’m pretty skeptical of most health trends. Sure I enjoy a green juice, will occasionally scrape my tongue and like a good barre class now and again, but at the end of the day, if I’m doing something, I want to know that it works.

When I was sent a package that included Marine Collagen*, an eyebrow slowly rose as I began to read the health claims. Better skin eh? As someone who has struggled since her teen years with some persistent acne I’m usually pretty down to try anything that’s not overly complicated. I had been on and off medicine, but it only worked while I was taking it, so I didn’t think it was the best solution long term. Prescription creams dried the crap out of my face and I didn’t see much help.

So I decided to give the collagen a try. As a pescatrian, I was happy to see it was made from fish products. The powder dissolves in hot and cold water and is virtually tasteless. I have a scoop almost every morning with some warm lemon water.

I still have an occasional break out around a certain time of month *wink wink* but I’ve actually noticed a difference in the clarity and smoothness of my skin. Again, it’s still far from perfect, but I am definitely going to keep using it on a daily basis and would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a more natural alternative to taking prescriptions or using tons of creams.

6.) Beautiful Nomad Malas

Oh the magical world of etsy. I was procrasti-shopping late one night, when I stumbled across Beautiful Nomad on etsy. I always have my eyes peeled for beautiful malas, a kind of buddhist prayer neckless, traditionally with 108 beads. These ones stood out to me right away. Compared to many I’ve seen, they were very reasonably priced. In an impulsive and indecisive mood I ended up getting two because I simply couldn’t choose. They’re even more beautiful than the photos and I love wearing them almost every day. I have “calm” and “dream.”

7.) New Healthy Drinks – Project Juice & C Botanicals

After working for a beverage company, I’ve definitely become  healthy drink junkie. Kombucha? Hell yes. Green juice? Sign me up. $5 Cold brew? Why not?! My only criteria is that there isn’t any added sugar and there’s an emphasis on function and flavor over sweetness.

Clearly Kombucha came out with a line of fizzy fermented botanical drinks and they’re exactly what I need when I’m looking for a pick me up and don’t need another coffee. The turmeric and ginger are my two favorites hands down.

I also recently found, quite possibly my favorite juice company. Which is saying something because boy are there about a million and 3 cold pressed juice companies out there. Project Juice’s drinks were the right level of sweet and spicy (bring on the ginger.) Their charcoal lemonade was perfectly sour and I couldn’t get enough of the citrus-y immunity drink. I didn’t drink them as a cleanse, just an addition to my morning routine.
