Lorena Ochoa Invitational Winners and History
Hosted by its namesake, one of the LPGA’s legendary players, the Lorena Ochoa Invitational is a 72-hole, 36 golfer event. The field includes the top five in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings plus the top 26 players on the LPGA money list not already in the field via the rankings. Sponsors exemptions account for five golfers.
Originally, the tournament was played at the course where Ochoa learned to play golf, the Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara. In 2014, it was moved to the Club de Golf México in Mexico City.
Lorena Ochoa played on the LPGA Tour from 2003 to 2010. During that time, she amassed 27 wins and two Majors (the ANA Inspiration and Women’s British Open). She will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2017.
